About

The West Genesee Athletic Club (WGAC) is a community-focused organization dedicated to providing opportunities for local youth to engage in competitive sports. As a long-standing member of the Pop Warner Little Scholars program, the WGAC emphasizes a “safety first” approach while fostering athletic development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

For years, the club has served as a cornerstone of the Camillus/West Genesee community, offering both Football and Cheer programs. Our commitment extends beyond the field, focusing on building character and academic excellence in young athletes.

Academic Excellence: Pop Warner Little Scholars

WGAC takes great pride in the academic achievements of its participants. As part of the Pop Warner Little Scholars program, WGAC recognizes that student-athletes must perform as well in the classroom as they do on the field.

  • Eastern Region All-Americans: The club consistently celebrates its athletes who earn “All-American” status (1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention) based on their academic performance.

  • Requirements: To participate, athletes are required to maintain a certain grade point average, ensuring that football and cheerleading serve as a complement to—not a replacement for—their education.

Programs Offered

  • Football: Includes Spring and Fall seasons, with a heavy emphasis on safety protocols and proper technique.

  • Cheerleading: Offers competitive cheer programs, including participation in Game Day activities and  competitions.
